Different from the Knitting: I'm working on wedge bag details

Monday was our fifth anniversary! So this weekend was a super awesome one spent out in a mountain lodge (Emerald Lake Lodge)...And of course, I had a few minutes in Knit & Caboodle in Canmore - in fact, I still have the yarn in my knitting bag!

I'll show you more pictures of our trip once I get the photos off my camera.

The green in that photo is much more representative of the green in the "I Do" socks I'm knitting Dallas for the wedding...But this is a good picture of the colour work:

And, these pouches are making their way to the US for a retreat. I'll tell you more once the recipients have gotten them!

 

Unfortunately, my pouch stock was devastated with this shipment, so I'll be restocking pouches and box bags/bags in the next 10 days to two weeks. Keep an eye on Instagram/Twitter to see what prints are coming up! :)

Honours Symposium, Crafting, and Light Box, Oh My!

So, we're gearing up for our Honours symposium for March 16 and 17th! The title is (Re)Scriptae, and the blog is here: http://ucalgaryenglishhonours.blogspot.com/ We'll be adding more information as we get it, like posters, and there might be individual paper information going up. We're just trying to get everything sorted out.

It's going to be awesome, though, no matter what!

It's now reading week, which means that I need to get a 40 page draft of my paper done by next Thursday/Friday. My boyfriend and I were supposed to go to Victoria this week, but excitingly, he got an interview with Husky! So, we're staying in town. Which will work out better, considering the fact that I have a a group presentation the week after the break, and I have more work to do than normal. Still somewhat disappointing. Coincidentally, my horoscope two days later said that I would be invited to something wonderful, but something marvelous might have to be cancelled. Which is what happened!

But, staying home, also lets me do a lot of work on the Etsy shop, which is fun, too. And we'll go out to Banff/Lake Louise on Tuesday for (as my boyfriend's termed it) "Valentine's and a Half." hehe Which also means, we're going to go "Knit 'n Caboodle" in Canmore, which I'm excited for. I haven't been there before, but it looks awesome!

Yesterdah, I made a light box. So, my photos are going to be coming out a lot better, and it means that I can also take pictures at night, which is a big advantage for me! Not that I won't take natural light photos, especially of my knitting projects, but there's a big (good) difference between the two:

The one on the left is the edited version of natural light; the one on the right is the "point and click" version from my light box.

It's going to be lots of work, but fun, to replace all the listings that I have already.

Other than that, just trying to keep afloat with school work!

These Posts are Coming Fast and Furious

On the Needles: Log Cabin Toddler Blanket

Well, posts are certainly coming faster, but that's OK. There will be gaps when I get back in the school year.

Anyway. The kid's mittens went live on the shop today! These are just the ones designed for the four-year-old;  I'll be working on taking pictures of the other pair and posting them soon (the two year old's). But you can check out the four year old's now!

I actually entered these mittens into a contest held in Cochrane; the Bearspaw fair. They came out with the results that they have very even knitting! Which I really like.  These were amazingly fun to knit, and I'm happy to be able to share them with you all.

This has been a busy weekend; my boyfriend and I went out to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake! Moraine is soooooo beautiful. And Mike, my travelling sheep, came along:

Yep, Valley of the Ten Peaks. Absolutely spectacular; if you ever make it to this area, Moraine Lake is even better than Lake Louise...And fewer people! 

Plus, these were research photos; I'm looking into somehow involving mountains into my hats. Fingers crossed that it works out!
